Wellington Children's Hospital Quilts

I had spoken a while back about making some of these and so far have done 2, with a possible 2 more on the way .....??? not sure. Looking at a very pink number for girls below.

I had also at some time bought this for Sam when he was small, never quite got round to doing something with it.
Photos of finished ones to come.. Love M.

Spring Garden

I haven't created something in a while but thought a picture or two would be fantastic to share. What with School Library, School morning prayers, swimming, TKD, 3 boys etc etc......

This quilt I made for my Aunty Gerdien in Canada.
Made from 2 1/2 inch 9 patch block swaps done with friends from Stitching Sisters

Arty party - Sophie Voon Cushion

I had a fantastic time back in September making the cutest wee cushion for our brown couch.

The outer is silk and the inner is a very soft green cotton, not sure if you can see it in the picture.

I am trying out how to add links so here is one for the Arty Parties that are run by our Capital Vineyard Church. It is a craft session run once a month at church, see here -   Arty party Facebook

I have done a lovely cushion cover from a pattern that Sophie Voon gave us at Arty Parties, I will upload photos soon.

The there has been the 2 quilts made for the Children's Hospital Quilt programme that Sue Burnett (from Sue B's Quilting fame) is heading up.

Again Photos to follow...........

Just thought I had better type something before you all think that I have disappeared into my sewing room never to be seen again.

Have a play with the goldfish, I think they might be hungry......

Houses on the Hill

Well last Friday went by without a wonderful create session. I went to work instead. Which is really cool because I get to create there too. I quilt on a long arm quilting machine owned by Sue. www.suebsquilting.co.nz if ever you are in Wellington.

Over the weekend I had a really good tidy up in my sewing room, I thought it best to get a clear space for some creative juices to start flowing. Hmmm I did find yet another UFO (unfinished flipping object) so here is a few photos of the houses on the hill.

Here in NZ or more precisly Wellington we have houses strewn all over the hill sides. First photo is of the piece with-out the black tule which will go over the top of it to hold it all together, next photo with tulle. All I need do is quilt it, square up, bind, and label. See when you type it up it sounds so easy....

Anyway enjoy.

Out My Window

Well here we have the first trial of uploading a photo from email. At least you get to see what I have been able to accomplish at my sewing machine. This was a small challenge that a group from Wellington Quilters Guild put together, this is my design.

First Blog Ever

Friday - my at home day

Oh my goodness, yes I've gone and done it and created a blog. I am so excited. I have watched and read many friends blogs and finally I feel ready to leap onto the cyber world as it were.

Today is Friday and I am supposed to be doing my creativity day from 9.30am till 2pm.

Hmmm so far (and it's 12.02pm here) I have done the dishes, looked at the washing pile, noticed that it is only 12.2 degrees Celsius inside the house and colder outside, so what would the point of washing the washing be?? How would I get it dry??? any way I digress (again) have eaten the chocolate fudge that was supposed to be for the children, (they didn't like it as it was too healthy, nuts, seeds, and dates instead of sugar) and I have ordered a heat-pump for the kitchen dining area.

World Health Organisation would have a field day knowing how cold our house is during winter. Now I need to start sewing and making more quilts to sell to pay for it. Hence the idea of an at home "create" day just for me. Best I get started.

I will endevour to take photos, upload photos etc as I work, hehe what fun tings to learn.

See you all soon.
